Let Me Despawn

Let Me Despawn tackles entity lag by letting mobs that picked up or equipped items despawn naturally, dropping those items rather than losing them. Name-tagged mobs remain protected, and a configurable exclusion list preserves vanilla behavior for selected mobs. Available for Forge, NeoForge, Fabric, and Quilt on Minecraft 1.12.2–26.3, it requires no client installation.
