What are Minecraft mods?
Mods are add-ons that change Minecraft itself: new blocks, mobs, dimensions, technology or better performance. Unlike plugins, a mod usually has to be installed both on the server and in the game of every player.
Some mods work only on the player's side (minimaps, shaders) and do nothing on a server, so we don't list them here. Everything in this catalog runs on a server.
Forge, NeoForge or Fabric: which one to choose?
Every mod is made for one mod loader and a specific Minecraft version. Forge and NeoForge have the biggest mods and most modpacks, Fabric is lighter and gets new Minecraft versions sooner. Pick the loader your favourite mods support - you can't mix them on one server.
How to install a mod on a Minecraft server?
On Spot.gg open Addons in the server panel, search for the mod and click Install - we pick the file that matches your engine and Minecraft version. Required libraries (e.g. Fabric API or Architectury) are installed the same way, one by one. Players need the same mods in their game; a launcher such as CurseForge or Modrinth makes this easiest.
